SynOptics Communications Inc and Wellfleet Communication Inc jointly announced on July 8, 1994 that they will merge to form a global business unit to help customers upgrade and introduce the next generation of high-performance networking technologies. The consolidation plan is based on the common goal of both parties to work together to develop open system solutions that meet industry standards. Both parties believe that the successful completion of the merger plan will help to provide customers with comprehensive products to help them make a smooth transition from existing enterprise networks to the introduction of a new generation of switching technology network systems.
