ZSM-35 zeolites were prepared by using tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and fumed amorphous silica (FAS) as silica sources respectively. The former gave ZSM-35 with a higher SiO2/Al2O3 ratio, a more stable framework, a larger unit cell volume, and a smaller crystal size at a higher growth rate than the latter did. The differences between monomeric and polymeric silica strctural species provided by these two sources in synthesis systems respectively might be the main origin of the observed facts.
