Since the 1940s, one of the most important developments in radar technology has been the advent of Active Elec-tronically Steered Arrays (AESA), an active phased-array radar antenna. With unprecedented reliability, excellent detection and a thousandfold improvement in radar sweep speed, this technique will change the direction of air combat and attack operations.
