PCD刀具是加工复合材料的理想刀具。最近,美国华盛顿大学机械工程系的研究者用不同粒度的PCD刀具加工石墨/环氧树脂复合材料,取得可喜成果。实验操作与切断操作相似,试件为一直径152mm的毛坯,毛坯中心有一直径为51mm的孔;实验在一台CNC车床上进行,采用等速228.6m/min;刀具磨损和加工表面采用一台扫描电子显微镜检测;试件的表面粗糙度R_(?)值用一台Federal表面分析仪4000测量。
