在美国防御高级研究计划局和空军的资助下,美国西北大学一个研究小组的研究人员正在研制基于多光谱量子阱红外光电探测器的“人造眼睛”。据有关专家介绍,研制工作分几个阶段,其中包括把量子阱红外光电探测器本身做成焦平面列阵,把探测器同其它电路一起集成在硅衬底上,研制量子串级激光源。
With funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the Air Force, researchers at a research team at Northwestern University are working on “artificial eyes” based on multispectral quantum well infrared photodetectors. According to experts, research and development work in several stages, including the quantum well infrared photodetector itself made of focal plane array, the detector together with other circuits integrated in the silicon substrate, the development of quantum cascade laser source.
