管道输送在国外已广泛应用,特别是管道长距离输送煤炭取得了很好的经济效益,既节省了动输费用,又减轻了铁路运输的压力。目前世界上许多国家和地区已经利用管道输送各种固体物料,如煤炭、尾砂、精矿粉等。目前在我国铁路运输非常紧张的条件下,建立长距离输煤系统有着重要意义。我国已确定的二条工业管线即晋东南以长治为中心到东部沿海长公里,运量为1500~2500万吨/年。准格尔到秦皇岛长780公里,支线140公里,运量3000万吨/年。此外还计划兴建另外几条管线,这些管道工程量和投资规模非常大。如何充分减少投资又能节约经营费用,这是一个关系到管道输送参数优化的问题。
