英国未来防护车辆(FPV)构想打破了装甲战车不断变大、变重的发展趋势,将形成全新的装甲战车系统。该车将采用8×8型式和电驱动,战斗全重在30t以内。其生存力因采用新技术而得以巨大提升,车体将采用分段式的创新设计,强大的火力体现在可发射智能弹药的新型火炮上,另外车体内部还可搭载无人机和无人车(见封面)。乘员位于炮塔下方,无人机安装在车体前部,装甲输送车型则可容纳8名全副武装的士兵(见下图)。
The British concept of future protective vehicles (FPV) breaks the trend of ever-larger and heavier armored combat vehicles and will create a completely new armored combat vehicle system. The car will use 8 × 8 type and electric drive, fighting the full weight less than 30t. Its viability has been greatly enhanced by the adoption of new technologies. The bodywork will adopt a segmented, innovative design. The powerful firepower is reflected in the new artillery capable of launching smart ammunition.
