随着老龄化社会进程的加快,老年人身体健康状况备受人们关注。太极拳有其独特的运动特点,是老年人强身健身的首选项目之一。文章采用文献资料法、实地考察法等进行研究,在分析太极拳运动在老年人健身活动中的作用基础上,分析了太极拳在老年人健身活动中的优势:不受场地、器材限制,可以随时随地的练习;动作轻松柔和、舒缓大方,适合老年人习练;具有显著的中国传统文化特征;具有一定的表演性和观赏性;首尾相接,圆活连贯,内容丰富,姿态优美;适合不同性别和不同年龄的人群习练;既可以配乐集体练习,也可以独立自由练习等,从而使太极拳更好地为老年人健康工程服务。
