三峡一期工程取得瞩目的成就，是实行项目法人责任制、招标承包制和建设制的结果，是参建各方奋力拼搏的成果，同时也凝结了监理工程师的艰辛努力。通过对三峡工程建设建设监理制的实践，认为监理必须正确地运用监理的职责、权限与技能，认真领会和贯彻设计意图，督促承建单位的质量保证体系落到实处，加强工程质量的现场控制，加强对施工关键部位、关键工序、关键环节的全过程跟踪监理。指出了三峡二期工程建设监理的一些重要工作。
