深圳摄影师白小剌从2009年10月开始,以游猎的方式,为中国各地方政府主导建设的公共建筑(即政府大楼),拍摄巨幅正面肖像。一年多来,他前往中国一半以上的省级行政区,北到呼和浩特,南到深圳,东到上海,西到成都,完成了对中国县市级政府大楼的各种风格的基本收集。这些图像,为人们了解各级政府大楼的形成机理与美学趣味以及当代中国的基层政治生态,提供了丰富的视觉证据。
From October 2009 onwards, Shenzhen photographer Bai Xiaozhu has taken a huge frontal portrait of a public building (ie the government building) under the leadership of various local governments in China by means of hunting. In the past year or so he traveled to more than half of China’s provincial administrative regions, north to Hohhot, south to Shenzhen, east to Shanghai and west to Chengdu, completing the basic collection of various styles of Chinese county-level government buildings. These images provide abundant visual evidences for people to understand the formation mechanism and aesthetics of government buildings at all levels and the grassroots political ecology in contemporary China.
