联合国亚太经济社会委员会5月30日在新加坡公布的经济调查报告指出,1999年世界经济增长2.6%,高于去年预测的1.9%的增长率。调查报告说,去年美国经济强劲增长、欧盟经济以较高幅度增长以及日本经济的复苏是推动世界经济良好发展的主要原因。报告还认为,去年发达国家和发展中国家的经济表现都比预期的好,其中发展中国家去年的经济增长尤为显著,总体增长率为5.5%,比1999年初预测的3.6%高出将近两个百分点。
The UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific Economic Survey released in Singapore on May 30 pointed out that the world economic growth in 1999 was 2.6%, higher than the growth rate of 1.9% predicted last year. The investigation report said that last year’s strong economic growth in the United States, the EU’s higher economic growth and the recovery of Japan’s economy were the main reasons for the sound development of the world economy. The report also believes that the economic performance of both developed and developing countries was better than expected last year. The economic growth in developing countries last year was especially remarkable with an overall growth rate of 5.5%, nearly two points higher than the forecast of 3.6% at the beginning of 1999 percentage point.
