审美活动在内容上固然是后天的,但是在形式上却是先天的。人类一生下来就有了潜在的审美可能、潜在的审美天性。这是自然进化与生命遗传的结果,是一个精神基因、审美基因。而且,审美活动的先天性恰恰是审美活动之所以能够产生的前提。同时,由于审美活动的先天性已经是自然进化的特殊成果,因此也就截然区别于动物的先天性。因此,审美活动的先天性既与自然保持着异中之同,另外一方面又与自然保持着同中之异。
