The Huangdao Phase II Oil Terminal, with its trestle structure and 19 giant caissons at underwater piers, succeeded in hauling 68 nautical miles (126 kilometers) to Huangdao after launching in Shijiugang and had a shorter lead time than the one on the new site in situ. Save one-half of direct costs.
