Network managers who must build cross-border private networks often end up in a coping style that is not welcome in international diplomacy. This lesson has been particularly prominent in Asia. There are not only a wide range of regulations that address the wide range of telecommunication authorities, but also the very different quality and availability of services across countries. Pacific Century Corporate Access Pte Ltd (Singapore) is taking the first step toward streamlining the cross-border networking that is opening up the first international VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) business in the Pacific to corporate users. Until then, VSATs in the Asia-Pacific region were only offered for the domestic market.
