Objective To understand the detection and epidemiological characteristics of thyroid nodules among healthy physical examination population in Huanghua City. Methods Statistical analysis was conducted on the thyroid examination data of thyroid ultrasound examination of the health examination population in some units of Huanghua from January 2012 to December 2014. Results The total detection rate of thyroid nodules was 17.42% in 2012, of which 16.27% were males and 21.53% for females; the detection rate was 22.07% in 2013, 20.78% in males and 27.24% in females; the detection rate was 30.32% in 2014 and 29.02% in males %, Female 35.79%. The total detection rate of thyroid nodules continued to increase year by year for three consecutive years with a significant difference (χ2 = 36.836, P <0.05), and with the increasing of age, there was a significant difference (χ2 = 26.986, P <0.05). The detection rate of women was significantly higher than that of men, but there was no significant difference between men and women (χ2 = 134.81, P> 0.05). The detection rate of thyroid nodules 0.3 ~ 0.5cm in three consecutive years was lower than the detection rate of nodule diameter> 0.5cm. The detection rate of solitary nodules in thyroid nodules was lower than that in multiple nodules The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (χ2 = 403.52, P <0.01). Conclusions The detection rate of thyroid nodules in the health examination population of Huanghua City is high, showing a continuous increase year by year, and is related to the age and gender. Precautionary measures need to be taken.
