Ancient Chinese monosyllabic words dominated, but at the same time, already have a considerable number of polysyllabic words (mainly disyllabic words). Among them, the compound words in parallel are large in quantity and fast in growth, attracting great attention. From the partial statistics, late in the Warring States period, it has leapt to the first of all kinds of polysyllabic words, to the Eastern Han Dynasty, more than the total sum of other polysyllabic words. Not only that, in the simple parallel relationship of “parallel” The situation is very complicated. No wonder Mr. Lu Zhiwei said: “The combination of multiple and complicated words, it is a feature of Chinese word formation.”
