按照传统的朴素观念,创作与观赏的关系是相当简单的,无非是创作者把文学艺术作品创作出来,而观赏者则被动地加以接受。当然观赏者也可能不接受、不观赏这些作品,但无论接受或不接受、观赏不观赏,都不能改变已经出现的艺术品,也不能改变创作者自己选定的创作之路。所以创作与观赏的关系是单向的,即前者使动,后者受动,亘古如斯,于今不变。但是,近世以来,由于唯物辩证法日益深入人心,也由于系统方法与接受美学等理论使人树立了一些新的观念,人们就发现创作与观赏之间的关系实际上并不如此简单,它们之间存在着相互依存、相互制约、相互促进的辩证关系。
