最近日本富士电机公司开发成功一种采用风扇取代传统空气冷却器的单机容量世界最大的灯泡贯流式水轮发电机,并在美浓川合电站投入运行。该机容量26MVA,突破了以往这种电机的容量极限 10MVA。当今世界单机容量最大的灯泡贯流式水轮发电机仍然是日立公司生产的用于只见电站的65.8MW机,但它采用的是空气冷却器冷却方式,虽然这种冷却方式的换热能力较大,但需附属装置,如冷却器、循环泵、过滤器、排水管等,而且维护不便,用户强烈要求简化维护或实现无维护化。由于灯泡贯流式机组经常处于水流管道中,维护人员只能穿过高深而又狭窄的通道进去维护,非常麻烦。所以采用风扇取代冷却器,意义重大。
