The abnormal expression of survivin gene in most human malignant tumors has the biological effects of inhibiting apoptosis and regulating cell division and has become a hot spot in the study of tumorigenesis, development, treatment and prognosis. It has been found that there are two different subcellular localization of survivin, and the localization of survivin in the nucleus may be involved in the regulation of mitosis. Survivin located in the cytoplasm is considered to have a cytoprotective effect. However, the mechanism of survivin subcellular localization and its relationship with tumor prognosis are still inconclusive and needs to be further explored. In addition, survivin-specific transporter inhibitors are expected to become new ways to treat tumors.
