陈韵:下次你去北京,我会给你介绍我一个同样做纪录片发行和制作的朋友,他们机构(指CNEX)每年一个主题征集纪录片方案并资助导演完成影片,他们也做纪录片DVD发行,也带着中国导演的作品去国外参加影展。你们做的事情很像,但有不同的背景。他们做的是制作方,而你们是发行方,所以你们一开始介入的姿态和方式就很不同。这在很大程度上因为你们对纪录片在两个社会中的位置和发展的需要有不同的认识,对一些纪录片生态的核心问题的切入有不同的理解。不过,很难想象,一个连故事片DVD都不买的人,会去买纪录片DVD。
Chen Yun: Next time you go to Beijing, I will introduce you to a friend who is also doing documentary distribution and production. Each year, their organization (referring to CNEX) solicits documentary programs and supports directors to complete films. They also make documentary DVD releases, Also with Chinese director’s work abroad to participate in the film festival. You do a lot of things, but have different backgrounds. What they do is the producer, and you are the issuer, so the attitudes and the ways in which you started getting involved are very different. This is due in large part to your different understanding of the documentary’s need for location and development in the two societies, and a different understanding of the cut-ins of some of the core issues of documentary ecology. However, it is hard to imagine that one who does not even buy a feature DVD will buy a documentary DVD.
