1979年4月6～12日,在南京大学举行了英国史研究会筹备座谈会,与会者有南京大学、北京师范学院、辽宁大学、上海师范学院、山东大学、四川大学和中国社会科学院世界史研究所等单位从事英国史研究和教学的同志共十四人。会议先后由南京大学蒋孟引、北京师院戚国淦等同志主持。会议期间,大家学习了党中央领导同志以及中国社会科学院负责同志的一系列指示精神,交流了国内英国史的研究动态,初步酝酿了英国史研究工作的规划,决定首先开展下列各项工作:一、年内交流各单位和各地区的图书馆关于英国史藏书的目录。
From April 6 to April 12, 1979, a symposium on the preparation of the British history seminar was held in Nanjing University. The participants included Nanjing University, Beijing Normal University, Liaoning University, Shanghai Teachers College, Shandong University, Sichuan University and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Institute and other units engaged in British history research and teaching comrades total of fourteen people. The meeting was successively led by Jiang Meng-yi from Nanjing University and Qi Guogan from Beijing Normal University. During the conference, everyone learned a series of instructions from leading comrades of the Party Central Committee and comrades in charge of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, exchanged research on the history of British history and initially planned the research work on British history. They decided to start with the following work During the year, all departments and libraries in various regions exchanged catalogs of British history books.
