萧友梅:近代中国音乐教育之父、专业音乐教育的开拓者与奠基者、音乐理论家、作曲家。他先后创办了北京大学音乐传习所、北京国立艺专和上海国立音专(上海音乐学院前身),为我国培养了一大批杰出的早期现代音乐人才,如冼星海、贺绿汀、江定仙、李焕之等。除此之外,他还是中国近现代历史上最早掌握西方作曲手法,并进行创作的作曲家之一,一生创作了100多首歌曲。
Xiao Youmei: Father of Modern Chinese Music Education, Pioneer and Founder of Professional Music Education, Music Theorist and Composer. He founded Peking University Music Training Center, Beijing National Art College and Shanghai National Academy of Music (predecessor of Shanghai Conservatory of Music), and trained a large number of outstanding early modern music talents such as Xian Xinghai, He Luting, Jiang Dingxian and Li Huanzhi. In addition, he is one of the earliest composers in the history of modern Chinese to master and write compositions in the West, creating more than 100 songs throughout his lifetime.
