本研究对处于英语专业一年级5个班,139位学生的积极词汇、消极词汇及词块能力进行了调查。结果显示,被试的消极词汇量约为3400词,积极词汇量约为2200词,3000个高频词中约有1300词可以正确搭配,熟练使用。整体而言,学生的消极词汇达到了大纲规定要求,但能够熟练使用的词汇数量偏低,这主要与教学方式及课程设置有关。结果还显示,个别班级对最常用的3000词的掌握程度显著低于其他班级,建议对该班学生加强高频词训练。
This study investigated the active vocabulary, negative vocabulary and vocabulary ability of 139 students in five classes of first year English majors. The results showed that the subjects’ negative vocabulary was about 3400 words and the active vocabulary was about 2200 words. About 1300 words out of 3000 high-frequency words could be used correctly and proficiently. Overall, students’ negative vocabulary meets the outline requirements, but the number of proficiently used words is low, which is mainly related to teaching methods and curriculum settings. The results also show that individual classes of the most commonly used 3000 words mastery was significantly lower than other classes, it is recommended that students in this class to strengthen the training of high frequency words.
