甘肃农业大学副校长、甘肃草原生态研究所所长任继周教授应美国草原学会主席、新墨西哥大学校长G.W.汤姆森教授的邀请,于1983年2月11日至3月13日访问了美国。访美期间,任教授应邀参加了美国草原学会年会,会上美方授予任继周教授“美国草原学会会员”资格,并赠送了锦旗。会后,分别在新墨西哥州大学、科罗拉多州大学、得克萨斯州农工大学、技术大学进行了讲学。还应邀参加了由美国草原学会、温洛克基金会及新墨西哥州大学举办的中国草原畜业国际学术讨论会,并作了中心发言。
Professor Ren Ji Zhou, the vice chancellor of Gansu Agricultural University and director of Gansu Grassland Ecology Institute, paid a visit to the United States from February 11 to March 13, 1983, at the invitation of Professor G.W. Thomsen, president of American Prairie Society and president of New Mexico University. During the visit to the United States, Professor Ren was invited to attend the annual meeting of the American Prairie Society, where the United States awarded Professor Ren Jizhou the “American Prairie Society membership” and presented the pennants. After the meeting, they gave lectures at New Mexico University, Colorado State University, Texas A & M University and Technical University respectively. He was also invited to attend the International Symposium on Grassland Animal Husbandry in China organized by the American Grassland Society, the Windsor Foundation and the University of New Mexico, and made a keynote speech.
