This article examines the impact of the legalized drinking age (LDA) in the United States between 1979 and 1984 on the fatal injury of adolescents aged 15-24 years. The impact of pre-LDA teens, LDAs and those who experienced LDA (post-LDA) was assessed. Higher LDA can reduce the casualty rate of pedestrians in car drivers and can reduce accidental injury and suicide in non-car accidents. Indictments of the killer’s induction were identified and no association was found between alcohol consumption and the reduction in casualties. In conclusion, higher LDA can reduce various rates of violence and injuries among adolescents and young adults.
