学生须能读书,须能作文,故特设语文课以训练之。最终目的为:自能读书,不待老师讲;自能作文,不待老师改。老师之训练必作到此两点,乃为教学之成功。又有人以为学习语文课之目的惟在作文,读书盖为作文之预备,故讲读之际,喋喋言作法,言技巧。我则语之以读书亦为目的。老师能引导学生稗善于读书,则其功至伟。果能不为死讲乱讲,而养成学生读书之良好习惯,不知不觉之中自能影响作文,因不必喋喋作法,言技巧也。至于勿教成政治课,勿教成文学课,颇有以此相询者,我谓课本之中各体类之文都有,书籍报刊亦复兼备各体各类,故政治性之文而不言政治,文
Students must be able to read and must be able to write. Therefore, language courses are specially designed to train them. The ultimate goal is: to study, not to speak with the teacher; self-composing, not waiting for the teacher to change. The teacher’s training must be done in two ways. It is the success of teaching. Some people think that in order to learn language lessons, they only write essays. Reading covers are preparations for essay writing. Therefore, when reading, swearing and speaking skills are used. I also use it for reading purposes. Teachers can guide students to be good at reading. If we can not talk about what we want to do, we can develop students’ good habits of reading books. Unconsciously, we can influence the composition, because we don’t have to do anything about it, and we have to speak up. As for teaching classes that are not taught in politics, they should not be taught in literature classes. There are quite a few people who ask questions in this way.
