我国高等职业院校多数是由中专升格成立的,人们对高等职业技术教育还缺乏足够的认识,对高等职业院校存有种种疑虑或误解,尤其是高职教师的思想观念还没有完全转变过来,还没有完全弄清高职人才培养的特征和要求,还不能完全适应高等职业技术教育快速发展的要求,有相当一部分教师的整体素质有待于进一步提高。
