After the financial crisis in some Southeast Asian countries and South Korea in the second half of last year, the local currency devalued sharply. So far, the Philippine peso, the smallest devaluation, has fallen about 35% against the U.S. dollar, the largest declining share of the Indonesian rupiah, reaching over 70%. In theory, the devaluation of a country’s currency usually means that the country’s exports fall in price and thus its competitiveness in the international market will rise. However, relevant statistics show that exports in U.S. dollars in the above-mentioned countries in the past few months are not like people
