To avoid discrimination, isolation and abuse by the community, many MSM, especially those of young or ethnic minorities, usually do not disclose their sexual orientation (non-public). These young male homosexuals, who are unwilling to disclose their sexual orientation, are considered to be at the highest risk of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection because they are prone to giving up themselves, feeling depressed or lacking in social protection for those male homosexuals with open sexual orientation service. The actual risks of non-disclosure of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are unknown.
