Mr. Na Xun, our famous Arabic translator, died quietly on December 29, 1989. An instant passed a year, Mr. Na’s tone and appearance often emerge, so I can not forget. Mr. Na spent his life working as a translator and was a pioneer in the cultural exchange between China and Afghanistan. One of the moving stories narrated by his brilliant and beautiful Shan Luzuo in his translation, “The Arabian Nights,” was deeply loved by the Chinese people. From the student’s age, I have admired my husband by reading his translation. But there has been no chance to listen to his teachings. In August 1978 during the funeral to the famous scholar Mr. Ma Jian, met with Mr. Na, I am overjoyed. By the 1980s, since my husband and I both belonged to the current members of the Chinese Association of Translators and Workers, we knew each other well. Mr. Nathun, a famous Muslim immigrant, was born in 1911 in an ordinary Muslim peasant family in Najiaying, Tonghai County, Yunnan Province. He is a descendant of the famous Muslim statesman Chi Hung Szetin (1211-1279). Affected by the family, Na Xun since childhood believe in Islam
