To determine if a patient’s characteristics and duration and duration of recovery have an impact on short-term and long-term outcome after stroke, a cohort study was conducted by 1770 stroke patients in consecutive 20 hospital admissions and wards in Italy Arch Phys Med Reha-bil, 2003, 84: 551-558). There were 874 males and 842 females with moderate to severe disability (FIM score ≤90). The primary outcome criteria were death, early failure, and late failure, with early failure referring to an unplanned interruption of the rehabilitation program prematurely and without any improvement after discharge, while complete failure was a significant disability at 6 months after discharge (Barthel score At least <40) or poor quality of life. Calculated using the ratio (OR)
