纪念太平天国铸钱140周年中国钱币博物馆重铸鎏金大花钱屠燕治今年是太平天国铸钱140周年。中国钱币博物馆重铸两种太平天国鎏金大花钱以资纪念。1853年,太平天国攻克金陵,建都天京,为了发展经济,巩固新生的天朝政权,在朝天宫开炉铸钱,后铸钱范围也扩大到苏州、杭州、徽州、株洲(或衡阳)、绍兴、嘉兴等地,太平天国铸造的钱币在中国货币史中占有着重要的一页,是宝贵的历史遗物。太平天国铸钱,除有小平、折二、折五、折十等流通货币外,还铸过绘有龙凤、八宝等吉祥图案的大小花钱。这类花钱,仅作为镇库、庆典、赏赐或馈赠之用,虽非通货,但从一个侧面反映了太平天国的经济制度、政治信仰和文化习俗。中国钱币博物馆为纪念而重铸的太平天国大花钱有两种:一、特大花钱。1854年前后太平天国曾铸有特大花钱一种,现仅湖南省博物馆存有残件一枚。据残件测算,这枚花钱的直径33.5,厚0.8厘米,重约4500克,黄铜质,遍体鎏金,应是我国最大的古钱。在对实物进行考察的基础上,重铸工作,主要分三步进行:第一步,绘制钱图。我们从现有的十余种大花钱图片中,找出太平天国花钱的基本特征和风格,文字组合和图案结构,又从残片上找出特大花钱独有的图文特点,经反复绘制修
