我校农场每年承担着国家大量的玉米单交种和双交种的制种任务,但是近年来单产一直停留在千斤以下的水平.产量上不去的原因固然与种子纯度较差、栽培管理不细有关,但我们认为,与采取老一套的种植方式也有一定关系.遵照毛主席“要认真总结经验”的教导,去年年初我们发动广大工人、教师和技术人员认真总结了过去的经验教训,深入讨论了如何提高单产的具体技术措施,除在防虫、保苗、合理施肥等方面作了改革外,还提出了一种改革现有种植方式的“三行靠”种植方式.1971年采用这种方式种植的三块试验田(15.2亩),均比大田增产,其中最好的一块5.2亩,平均亩产玉米、黄豆共1,236.3斤(内黄豆60斤),比大田平均亩产1,082.8斤增产14.2%,特别是双杂交种子的增产幅度较大,三块田平均亩产比大田增产18%.今年我们准备在大面积玉米制种田上全面推行.
