本文着眼于语言哲学由语义学向语用学的发展，对斯特劳森的指称观作了较详细的阐释与客观的评价，指出他关于语词(或语句)与语词(或语句)的使用的区别、语句真值取值的新标准以及预设等崭新概念的提出，对于语言哲学冲破语义学的樊蓠，而进入语用学的领域，做出了承前启后的重要贡献；同时也指出由于历史的局限性，他的一些观点尚不成熟，还有待于进一步的发展。
This paper focuses on the development of language philosophy from semantics to pragmatics and gives a detailed explanation and objective evaluation of Strawson’s referential theory.
