Six healthy subjects were given a single dose (60 mg) and multiple doses (once every 6 hours, 60 mg each for a total of nine times) of kinetics of codeine sulfate in blood samples of codeine, glucuronic Acid codeine, morphine and glucuronic acid morphine concentrations. Blood and urine samples were collected for their single and final multidose administrations and samples were analyzed by radioimmunoassay. Pharmacokinetics of multiple doses of oral codeine did not change significantly. However, morphine accumulation was significant during multiple doses of codeine (AUC24 = 102 ± 33 ng / ml / hr after single dose was increased to the last dose of multiple doses
