清末至民国回族报刊中的发刊词,表明回族知识分子办报兴刊的原因是希望改变国势衰败、宗教衰微、文教不兴的落后面貌。其创办宗旨包括普及教育、改良宗教,倡导实业、改善民生,宣扬爱国、协助建国,共赴国难、抵御外辱,传达边情、开拓边疆等。为实现上述宗旨,回族报刊必须遵守不违天经、谨遵教义,遵守法律、不涉政治,中外兼顾、回汉并收,独立自主、客观公正等原则。
The publication of the Hui newspapers and periodicals from the end of the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China indicated that the reason why the Hui intellectuals started rewriting the newspaper was to change the backwardness of the declining national status, religious decline, and cultural unhappiness. Its founding purposes include popularizing education, improving religion, promoting industry, improving people’s livelihood, promoting patriotism, helping founding the nation, accomplishing the national crisis, resisting foreign shames, sending fringes and opening up borders. In order to achieve the above purposes, the Hui newspapers and periodicals must abide by the principles of non-contradiction, follow doctrine, abide by the law, not be involved in politics, take both Chinese and foreign interests into account, reconcile themselves to the Chinese and the outside, be independent, objective and impartial.
