研究发现,脊尾白虾的抱卵亲体和幼体对温度和盐度的适应性较强,在温度18 ̄24℃,盐度12 ̄28‰下均能进行正常的早期胚胎和幼体的发育,脊尾白虾的胚胎发育从囊胚期到孵化出共经5期,幼体发育共经6期发育成仔虾;在实验范围内,亲体孵化时数、孵化率、幼体发育时数和幼体存活率与温度成正相关,与盐度成负相关。另外,实验中亦发现其绝对抱卵量与体长、体重均呈正相关,其直线方程分别为Y=1,243.665L-3,420.67,(r=0.9357);Y=683.4872W-171.004,(r=0.9660)。
