1 Biography and Contribution Róbert Bárány (Robert Barany) was born on April 22, 1876 in Vienna, the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. His father, Lgnaz Bárány, is a member of the Jewish descent family. His mother, Marie Hock Bárány, is the daughter of a scientist in Prague. Bárány is the eldest son of the family. His intellectual and cultural influence and guidance are very much influenced by his mother. Unfortunately, he suffered from bone tuberculosis at an early age. His knee stiffness was limited after healed. However, he still loves sports, especially mountaineering and tennis. Interested in medicine. 1894 Bárány with excellent grades
