First, to make students attach importance to geography curriculum According to the actual situation of secondary schools in Wuxi City, many students think geography is an associate class, so-so in class, do not concentrate on listening, not afraid to fail the exam. Some students even think: “Learning mathematics and chemistry is not afraid to go all over the world.” We do not care about geography classes at all. Another case is that students think geography lesson is the accumulation of a large number of nouns, such as mountains, rivers, metropolises, railways, and property, which are not easy to figure out and are therefore unwilling to learn geography. Some students think geography class “nothing”, even without Mr. 敎, take a look at yourself, but also understand. Therefore, in order to get a good geography course, we must first correct the bias of students despising geography class, which should solve the problem ideologically. An important part of solving the student’s ideological problems is to clarify the importance of the geography class in each class of the middle school (not to say geography class is the first important one) so as to educate the students to learn geography consciously on this basis. The first lesson is an important key at the beginning of the semester. In the first lesson I started in the semester, I briefly introduced students to the Stalinist Transformation Plan of the Soviet Union and the great project of communist construction, and explained that the planning of these great projects is directly related to geography. Then I pointed out that at the moment all the great constructions in our motherland, such as the Huaihe River project, the construction of a windbreak belt, the railway alignment plan and so on, are also inseparable from the scientific geography knowledge. After class, the students said: “In the past, we saw the three subjects of geography, history and language as the same” liberal arts curriculum. “We never imagined that we should apply scientific geography to our motherland ...”. This shows that students have come to realize that in the great course of the construction of our motherland, geography is a widely applied science and has begun to reverse their erroneous views on geography classes.
