《中等职业学校英语教学大纲》(新)要求教师要树立新的教学理念,通过有效的教学设计和策略来引导学生,在课堂教学中,始终以学生为主体,让学生做学习的主人,教师要充分调动学生积极参与、乐于探究、培养学生获取信息和对信息进行处理的能力。英语课堂教学过程是师生“问”与“答”互动的过程,教师的提问不仅要讲究艺术性,而且还要重视设问的策略,使每个问题都能为落实教学目标、完成教学任务服务。教师的提问可以促进学生思考,学生的思考就可折射出课堂教学的效率,富有魅力的课是问出来的,而不是教师独自可以讲出来的。
