2014年以来,习近平总书记、李克强总理作出了一系列关于发展足球的重要指示,强调足球运动要从娃娃抓起、从基层抓起、从群众参与抓起,特别是要做好青少年校园足球工作。2014年11月,在全国青少年校园足球工作电视电话会议上,刘延东副总理对全国校园足球工作进行了全面部署。2015年,国务院正式出台《中国足球改革发展总体方案》,随后教育部、财政部、体育总局、团中央等六部门联合印发《关于加快发展青少年校园足球的实施意见》,标志着我国校园足球迎来大发展时期。
