《谁带回了杜伦迪娜》这部小说中有一个关键词就是承诺。无论是已在战争中死亡三年的哥哥康斯坦丁将远嫁的妹妹杜伦迪娜带回母亲身边这一穿越生死的践行诺言的承诺传奇,还是在小说结尾,斯特斯上尉在接触四个“康斯坦丁的弟子”1时所讨论的承诺制度,都体现了作家的主体构建意识。即通过阿尔巴尼亚的古老传奇这一形式,来完成自己对于阿尔巴尼亚的阿尔巴尼亚化构建,而这一构建的关键就是革新古老卡努法。从这个意义上我们说作家通过小说这种文学形式,完成了借民族古老传奇故事对“承诺”制度的“借尸还魂”演绎,完成了自己对祖国理想制度形式的乌托邦式绘制,同时也进行了一次卓有意义的微宏大叙事的文学实验。
