从一九八二年上半年到一九八三年二、三月份延续已久的英国“四P”之争加剧引起了全世界的注意。何谓“四P”之争?“四P”是“Princess”(王妃)、“Privacy(私生活)、“Press”(报界)和“Public Eyes”(公众视界)这四个英文词儿的缩写——报界以满足公众兴趣为借口,不惜一切代价采写关于王室成员私生活的新闻,而王室成员则设法逃避乃至抵制记者的采访,这就是所谓“四P之争”。“四P”之争,在英国向来有之。远的不说,五十年代玛格丽特公主(伊丽萨白二世的妹妹)与皮特·唐森德空军上校的离婚案,就成了当时各报报道的热门。英国女王伊丽萨白二世唯一的女儿安妮公主,一向是记者跟踪的对象。今年三十二岁的安妮不拘小节,经常闯祸,因而经常出新闻。再加上她对记者态度不那么友好,因此获得了报界赠予的“粗暴公主殿下”绰号(Her Royal Highness Radeness)。
