在今年4月份的“2000年度广东省技术能手”颁奖会上,笔者又一次见到周宣义,在颤巍巍的步履下,他依然显透着往日那股坚毅的神情。由于当天中午要赶回潮州去,周宣义推掉了省残联的一个活动,接受了笔者的采访。在近二个小时的采访中,周宣义娓娓述叙着自己苦难的经历和顽强拼搏的人生。1960年5月的一个深夜,平时健康活泼的周宣义突然高烧不退,全身痉挛。父母在惊吓之余,急忙把他送往医院。经过紧急抢救和对身体彻底检查后,主治医生无奈地摇了摇头,然后对周宣义的父亲说:“小孩患了小儿麻痹症,你们送医院太迟了”。那一
