离开都城,西行十六公里来到一条河流,它名叫永定河,蜿蜒流入大海。河上舟楫往来,帆船如织。它们运载着大批的商品。河上架有一座美丽的石桥(即卢沟桥),这也许是世界上无与伦比的大石桥。桥长三百步,宽八步;十个人骑马并肩而行,也不感觉到狭窄不便。桥有二十四个拱门,由二十五个桥墩支立水中,支撑着桥身;拱门用弧形的石头堆砌而成。显示了造桥技术的高超绝伦。
Leaving the capital, westbound sixteen kilometers came to a river, named Yongding River, meandering into the sea. Rivers and lakes come and go, sailing like weaving. They carry a large quantity of goods. The river has a beautiful stone bridge (Lugou bridge), which may be the world’s unparalleled Dashiqiao. Bridge three hundred paces, wide and eight steps; ten people riding side by side, do not feel the narrow inconvenience.
