“If you don’t have a warm nest, where are the birds flying freely? If you don’t have a blue ocean, where is the fish?” The National Stadium “Bird’s Nest”) and the National Swimming Center (commonly known as “Water Cube”), one of the main stadiums for the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics and one for the main swimming pool, sits side by side in the Beijing Olympic Park. They cling tightly to each other. The “Bird’s Nest” of reinforced and ironed bones is like a strong Han, and the crystal clear “Water Cube” is like a gentle woman. Together they constitute the most beautiful scenery in the Olympic Stadium. They have fully displayed the three core themes of the “Green Olympics, High-tech Olympics, and Humanistic Olympics” of the Beijing Olympic Games.
