思茅市更名为普洱市,是全市政治生活和经济社会发展中的一件大事,众望所归,符合全市的发展要求。镇沅作为“世界野生茶树王之乡”、世界茶叶的原产地之一,全县20余万各族人民对更名欢欣鼓舞,对更名致以最热烈的祝贺。“十五”期间,在市委、市人民政府正确领导下,镇沅经济社会得到了较快发展。镇沅县委、县政府将继续以开拓创新的精神、求真务实的作风,认真实施好“十一五”规划,带领全县各族人民为建设更加美好的镇沅而努力奋斗。
