在文化大革命的十年浩劫中,有许多重大理论问题的是非都是颠倒的。林彪、“四人帮”对所谓“福利党”的批判,就是这种颠倒的一例。共产党人要不要为人民谋福利?对这个本来不成其为问题的问题的答复,只能是肯定的。如果不为人民谋福利,难道还配称作共产党人?!相信共产主义社会一定实现,并愿意为之终身奋斗的共产党人的一切工作,归根结底说来都是为人类谋长远的根本的最大的福利。在这个总的前提下,对一切有关人民群众的切身具体福利,共产党人都应当竭力去谋。否则,为共产主义事业奋斗就会变成一句空话。《论共产党员的修养》一书中关于这些问题的论述,本来都是些天经地义的常识,竟然长期地受到无端的批判,这是值得深思的历史教训。
