精神病院其实是美国社会的一个缩影,有时借着表现精神病院的疯狂而批判美国的现状,有时(?)通过精神病院对病人的挽救而歌颂了美国主流的价值。好莱坞电影常常被看作是大众文化的忠实传播者,它尊重大众的道德和经验,故事的结局往往符合大众的价值观。然而好莱坞电影也讲述一些在精神病院里发生的故事,故事里的疯癫之人逃避了文明、远离了大众,只生活在自己的精神世界里。表面上好莱坞对疯癫之人的表现,只是为了满足观众猎奇的欲望,但事实绝非如此。透过那些疯癫行为的伪装,精神病院其实正是美国社会的一个缩影,有时借着表现精神病院的疯狂而批判美国的现状,有时又通过精神病院对病人的挽救而歌颂了美国主流的价值。
A mental hospital is actually a microcosm of American society. Sometimes it criticizes the status quo in the United States by expressing the madness of a mental hospital. Sometimes (?) Praises the mainstream value of the United States through the rescue of patients in psychiatric hospitals. Hollywood movies are often seen as faithful communicators of popular culture, respecting the public’s morality and experience, and the outcome of the story tends to be in the general public’s values. However, Hollywood movies also tell stories about what happened in psychiatric hospitals. The insane person in the story escaped civilizations, moved away from the general public, and lived only in their spiritual world. On the surface, the performance of Hollywood on insane people, just to satisfy the audience’s desire for adventures, but the fact is not the case. Mental hospitals are in fact a microcosm of American society through the masquerading of those crazy acts. Sometimes they criticize the current situation in the United States through the madness of mental hospitals, sometimes praising the mainstream value of the United States through the rescue of patients in psychiatric hospitals.
