In this study, we observed that adrenomedullin (ADM) inhibits the release of angiotensin Ⅱ (AⅡ) in a concentration-dependent manner in isolated aortic strips of Wistar rats, which is significantly different from the control group Statistically significant (P <0.05), AⅡ stimulated the release of ADM in a concentration-dependent manner (P <0.05 or 0.01). The results suggest that the release of ADM and AⅡ in blood vessels interacts with each other, while AⅡ can stimulate ADM ADM, however, inhibits the release of AII and binds to the biological effects of AII and ADM. This phenomenon may have some physiological and pathophysiological significance in maintaining circulatory system function.
